In this significant milestone, we pay tribute to the enduring legacy of Tmt. Dr. C. Sarada Devi, a remarkable educator and former principal who left an indelible mark on our institution. With a tireless commitment to academic excellence and a genuine passion for shaping young minds, she has been serving as a principal for over 16 years.
Tmt. Dr. C. Sarada Devi was born in 1930, a time when women faced numerous barriers to accessing higher education. Undeterred by societal norms, she displayed an unquenchable thirst for knowledge. She emerged as one of the pioneering women to complete her graduation in Virudhunagar, defying the odds and paving the way for future generations.
Tmt. Dr. C. Sarada Devi commenced her illustrious teaching career in 1960 at Kshatriya Girls’ High School, Virudhunagar. Her passion for education and her ability to inspire young minds soon became evident. In 1960, she transitioned to the newly established VVV College for Women, where she served as a dedicated lecturer until her retirement in 1989.
Retirement did not deter Tmt. Dr. C. Sarada Devi from her mission of nurturing young girls’ minds. In 1990, she assumed the role of principal at VSKD Matriculation Higher Secondary School, where she would continue to inspire and shape young girls’ lives for over 16 years.
During her tenure as principal, Tmt. C. Sarada Devi enjoyed the complete support and trust of the school’s management, notably the Correspondent, Thiru. D.A. Rajan. This support facilitated the school’s transformation into a premier institution in the region. Students under her guardianship not only excelled academically but also showcased their talents in sports and extracurricular activities.
Tmt. C. Sarada Devi’s dynamic spirit and constant interaction with students kept her youthful at heart and mind. Her passion for inspiring teachers and mentoring young minds earned her recognition from the school’s management. It is noteworthy that many of her initiatives continue to thrive within our institution.
She believed in the power of education to shape the future of our country and left an enduring impact on countless lives. We are honoured to remember her as a well-wisher of our school, and her legacy continues to inspire us to strive for excellence in education.
